60 Min. of Energizers for Staff and Students --- 3-4 PM

Come learn and practice energizers whether you’re launching a district-wide wellness challenge, facilitating a staff meeting or teaching students. Energizers oxygenate the brain, increase focus and integrate wellness into the school day. They can improve work performance and academic growth. They can amp up daily physical activity minutes and release stress. Levels of energizers will be introduced to get started and to stay energized throughout the school year. Energizing staff with district-wide wellness campaigns and challenges will be shared.

Running or Mindfulness? --- 3:15-4:15 PM

We live busy lives, and there is no doubt about it. Between weekly errands, spending time with family and working a full-time job, it can sometimes feel like there is little time to fit in exercise, let alone mindfulness or meditation. If you’re feeling these time restraints, you’re not alone. Whether you’re a beginner, an expert or somewhere in between, running is an obvious (and great!) option to build movement in throughout the day, but can also be a time to relax your mind too. Together, let’s think about running in a different way, not just mandatory physical fitness.

In this session, Emmie Hiersche from Kaiser Permanente will share her personal experiences with running over the last 15 years to help equip you with strategies to adjust your mindset and think about running in a new way. If we can’t change the facts about needing to exercise and we can’t create more time in the day, let’s reverse our mindset and be more creative with our time. Join Emmie for a 30 minute run to figure out how to use running as a way to stop overthinking and allow the body and mind to work together.

This group will meet in the convention center lobby at 3:15pm
