Grants & Awards
OEA Choice Trust Wellness Grants range from $2,500 to $25,000. Grants will be based on the scale and duration of the project. The grant program requires a local match of at least 50% which may be any combination of cash and in-kind donations. The local match may include contributions from project partners. The grant period for the projects will be up to 12 months; with the opportunity to reapply for up to a total of 36 months. The OEA Choice Trust Board of Trustees will evaluate and approve all grant awards.

Wellness Grant Program Goals
1. Improve health and well-being by focusing on the following areas:
- Physical fitness
- Achieving and maintaining a healthy body weight
- Discovery and control of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and depression
- Management of stress
2. Be responsive to stakeholders needs:
- Meet needs of individual groups
- Provide support and motivation
3. Evaluate wellness plan components, look for:
- Assessment: Risk identification and risk awareness (example: A Health Risk Assessment is part of the program)
- Intervention: Addresses use of incentives, education and communication (example: participants receive a daily e-mail reminder to stretch)
- Evaluation: Calculate, measure and report participants progress (example: measure cholesterol levels before and after)
4. Share the knowledge gained from the wellness programs with other school districts and community colleges.
