REJUVENATION ACTIVITIES

MONDAY MORNING

Morning Walk --- 6-7 AM

Start your day right with some fresh air and movement; join Mark Mitchell from Moda Health for a guided walk and take in the beauty of Bend!

The group will meet in the convention center lobby.

Yoga --- 6-7 AM

Center yourself while caring for your mind, body and spirit. Join certified yoga instructor Karen Eddy from Blue Mountain Community College for an hour of rejuvenating yoga! No experience necessary.

Yoga will take place in Deschutes South (next to the Currents restaurant and Riverhouse Hotel reception).

 

MONDAY AFTERNOON

Yoga --- 3-4 PM

Center yourself while caring for your mind, body and spirit. Join certified yoga instructor Karen Eddy from Blue Mountain Community College for an hour of rejuvenating yoga! No experience necessary.

Yoga will take place in Deschutes South (next to the Currents restaurant and Riverhouse Hotel reception).

Walk the Labyrinth --- 3-4 PM

Join Moda Health’s Carrie Townsend for an introduction to the meditative features of walking a labyrinth. Learn about the origins of labyrinths and how you can bring one to your school or find one in your community. Engage in walking a (portable) labyrinth and watch a PowerPoint of labyrinth photos from around the world.

This workshop will take place downstairs in the exhibit hall.

From Mindlessness to Mindfulness – Simple Tools to Be Here Now --- 3-4 PM

Have you ever pulled into a parking space and wondered how you got there or found your car keys in the refrigerator? Many of us are stressed. Stress can make us mindless – functioning on autopilot when our minds are planning or worrying about the future or preoccupied with the past. When we’re mindful, we do our best to occupy our lives in the present and deal with the here and now. It isn’t magic, and it won’t miraculously solve your problems, but it can allow you to pay better attention to the thoughts and feelings that feed them. It may also help to ease your stress. The good news is, you’re probably already being mindful without even knowing it. In this fun, accessible and experiential session we will play with a variety of tools and techniques than can help you to be a bit more mindful and explore ways in which you can bring these practices into your life on a regular basis.

This session will take place in Cascade F.

Run/Jog/Whatever You Want to Call It—Let’s Go Outside! --- 3:30-4:00 PM

Join Kaiser Permanente’s Emmie Hiershe and Moda Health’s Cassy Bieker for a 30 minute run, jog or whatever you want to call it! All running levels and experience are welcome.

This group will meet in the convention center lobby at 3:30pm.
